Echelon was honored by the Smart Grid Paris 2012 with the Smart City award for the Sénart en Essonne street light control network project. The cities have been able to cut energy use of the street lights by 35%. Additionally, maintenance costs have been reduced by the system’s ability to quickly identify failures and issues before the citizens even notice. This project has enabled own council’s objective to not only reduce costs, but to contribute to sustainable growth.
