Echelon China recently attended the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition in China, the largest biennial lighting and building show in the Chinese market. Echelon’s booth highlighted its current street lighting success, with more than 200,000 lights under control in China.
Echelon China had two demo systems at the show: a street lighting demo with four controllers made by different vendors including Huati, Rongwen, and Echelon, plus a full demo of Echelon’s IzoT™ platform for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
Approximately 40% of the booth visitors were from the building automation segment, and the IzoT platform received a lot of attention from these visitors. One example was Schneider Shanghai, which has a new policy called C-C, which means China to China. Now its China-based R&D team can custom-design any product or solution that fits the Chinese market requirements.
Besides smart street lighting, the other main trend at the show was the Internet of Things (IoT). Echelon sponsored three seminars in Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing to educate customers on the IzoT platform and the FT 6050 EVK, which enables the quick and easy creation of IP-based devices for the IIoT.
